The other weekend while out at
District of Pi, a friend ordered this amazing cocktail made with mezcal and spicy ginger ale. It was so delightfully smoky. I wanted to try to make something like it. Sadly, my local liquor store didn't have the right kind of mezcal, so I'll have to keep looking. I made this instead, inspired by its smoke and ginger flavors.
Tartan Mula
1 oz. blanco tequila
1/2 oz. single malt Scotch
1/2 oz. lime juice (juice from 1/2 fresh lime)
4 oz. ginger beer
Lime wedge (optional garnish)
1. Fill rocks glass halfway with ice. Add all ingredients and stir to combine. Serve with lime wedge.
This was really good. I didn't taste the one at District of Pi, but I can't imagine it was any better.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Now that I have some mezcal, I can get even closer to something that's really smoky. Scotch adds a hint of smoke, but it's nothing compared to mezcal.
